京指物は平安時代からあったとされており 京の木工芸 としてその素晴らしさを誰もが認めていました また京の木工芸には 調度類 茶道具 の二種類があります 木里の美しさを現す技法の一つが指物であり 京指物は素材の木を最大限に生かしてモノを作るというのが特徴です KYO SASHIMONO WOODWORK Kyoto City Kyoto Prefecture The origin of Kyo sashimono dates back to the 8th century Around the 15th century it developed along with the establishment of the tea ceremony culture Woodworking techniques used in joinery turnery bent work moulding and carving are freely applied to craft tea ceremony items and furniture Raw materials range from soft wood to hard wood including fragrant wood
